Love yourself NOW - Don’t Do What I Did

Like too many women, I was consumed by body image issues and thinking there was something wrong with me for most of my life. We're talking decades, folks. For me they started very early, when a well-meaning gesture by my (amazing and loving) father was misinterpreted by my young and inexperienced brain.

This first experience was followed by being made fun of in school for my weight, and so on...and I know I am not alone here. So many of us have experienced the pain of body-shame. We carry long-held beliefs, worries, and shame stories about our bodies, and how they are not good enough. Or that there is something "wrong" with us that we need to fix.

This can be a slippery slope even in the field of natural health. Do we want to do this Ayurvedic program from a place of loving ourselves? Or are we trying to "diet" and force ourselves to change because we feel unworthy the way we are?

The cruel words we use and judgements we put on ourselves stifle us from the life we are meant to live. But we can move past them. Especially with each other's support. We can love ourselves NOW.

  • Start by acknowledging your story

  • Share your story

  • Then drop your story. Let it go. Don't stay stuck.

This last step can sometimes be the hardest step. But it is crucial in order to cultivate self-love. You must no longer allow yourself to be held back by your old story. Sometimes you unconsciously hold onto it because you are afraid of the growth it will bring to let go of it. So you allow yourself to stay stuck in your limited, stifled comfort zone, afraid of your true power, beauty, and magnificence.

But you don't have to carry this outdated burden with you. You can let it go and love yourself right now. At this weight, with with these wrinkles, dimples, boobs, butt, hair, teeth, workout regimen (or lack thereof) that you have TODAY. You are a beautiful human being.

Imagine the amazing, joyous, contributory life you can create, the freedom you can enjoy, once you let it all GO.

Share it with a loved one - unburdening yourself from being the sole carrier of the shame or embarrassment you have felt or feel about your body is a cathartic, healing step in the process of letting it go.
